Chic & Scary - Halloween Card

Happy Friday Everyone!
Here is a card I made for my Grandma.
I made this card using my Cricut Expression.  The spider web and Chic Witch was cut from the Teresa Collins Chic & Scary cartridge.  I used DCWV black glitter paper for the witch and AC textured cardstock for the web.
I wrapped a small piece of purple crinkle ribbon I made around her waist to add a little sumthin' to her.  I also adhered some lime green crinkle ribbon to the bottom of the glittered star paper which is from the DCWV Ghosts & Goblins Stack.
The evil pumpkin, black cat & green vine are all from the October 31st cartridge.
I found the little black spider in my stash, its plastic, not sure where I got it, LOL but he was just perfect!  Using a glue dot I stuck some Orange Licorice Trendy Twine to the back of him and another clue dot hold the other end of the twine behind the web.
I used foam squared to on several cuts to give it dimension.
Cardstock came from the DCWV Ghosts & Goblins cardstock stack.  I cut the frame for the inside of the card using the Happy Hauntings cartridge and DCWV Shimmer cardstock.  "Best witches to you" if from My Pink Stamper's Spooky Puns stamp set.  I also punched the bottom of the slime green cardstock with Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo punch.
I hope you like!  Thanks for looking!

Halloween Treat Bags

I made these Halloween treat bags last year for my peeps at work.  Never got around to sharing so thought I would do it now.  :)
I used DCWV glitter paper from the Halloween stack, My Pink Stamper stamps a bunch of Halloween stickers and stuff I had in my stash and the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch.  I filled the bags with candy corn and other candies!  My intentions were for my co-workers to take them home to their kids...well that didn't happen!  LOL They were a hit!

Desk Halloween Decor

Hello!  So I finally tried and figured out how to cut fabric flowers using my Cricut!!  I bought some fabric quarters at JoAnn's and some fabric stiffener and they came out perfect!  :)  For this project I used Black, bright/lime green, purple and bright orange fabric.
I cut all the flowers using the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  Then I stuck a silver brad through the middle and taped the brad to a wooden skewer that I broke in half because I didn't need it that long.  I then wrapped the skewer with green stem wrap tape.  Then I glittered the brad with purple Stickles.
The base is actually a candle holder I got at Costco years ago...It was a set of 6 pre-glittered tealight candle holders.  Each one has a different image.  I used a small strand of Christmas lights to light up the inside which is just wrapped around a small piece of that green foam stuff that is used to hold the flowers in place.  Once the glitter dried I just started sticking the flowers and the black feathers in the foam piece and this is what I got!!
The orange spider is a little pre-glittered clip-on I bought at Michale's last year.

I made this little Halloween arrangement for my desk at work.  Here is a quick pick of my cubical right now:
As you can see I put spiderwebs and little black spiders all over the inside and outside of my "office".  :)

I hope you enjoy

Halloween - Skull on a bed of Roses

This SPOOKY candle holder is the perfect addition to my Halloween Decor!  I made this myself using a black charger, bling, silk red & black roses, black faux feathers, plastic spiders, foam skull, and a glittered black taper candle.
I used glue dots to adhere the bling to the charger.
Using one of those foam things, LOL (I don't know what they are called) for making faux flower arrangements, my husband drilled a little hole in the middle of the bottom of the skull and inserted a dowel to hold the skull in place.  Then I added the red & black roses and the feathers.  The spiders are just placed on the flowers, not adheared with any adhesives.   My husband also drilled a hole in the top of the skull to hold the candle.

I hope you like it!  Thanks for looking.

Halloween Wreath - Re-post

Hi There!  I posted this wreath I made last year but thought I would share again since I love it so!  :)

Here is a quick and easy halloween home decor project that I made. I used a plain black wreath purchased from Michael's along with the skulls, skeletons and purple spiders. I dug deep in my ribbon stash and found the perfect black ribbon with purple glitter dots, white spider webs & skeletons, which I believe I also purchased form M's in the past. I used my Bowdabra DH bought me years ago to make the bow and of course my hot glue gun was called to duty!

With all the dark colors the picture really don't show how cute this turned out! It's kinda a must see in person, LOL.

The "Spooky" sign hanging in the middle I made using...can you guess??? That's right! My Cricut Expression and Gypsy along with a few other supplies:

The background:
  • Layer 1 - 9" x 5-1/2" DCWV black cardstock
  • Layer 2 - 8-1/2" x 5" DCWV off-white glitter cardstock
  • Layer 3 - 8" x 4-1/2" DCWV purple shimmer cardstock (I used Martha Stewarts border & corner "Halloween Cracks" punches on this layer)
"Spooky" Phrase:
  • Background - I cut Post-it Craft Paper at 2-1/2"
  • Phrase - DCWV black glitter cardstock cut at 2-1/2"
I peeled the backing of the Post-it Craft Paper off and put the phrase on the adhesive side, then I sprinkled Martha Stewart's AMAZINGLY COOL glow-in-the-dark glitter all over it, shook it off and Wa-La! I have a totally cute glow-in-the-dark phrase!
I then added some Jolee's spiders that I have had for who knows how long! LOL I used some purple fibers I had to hang the sign on the nail behind the wreath. You can attached the phrase/sign to the wreath but I just hung ii behind it...makes it somewhat adjustable. :)

Check back often as there are many more projects on the way!!!

Happy Grandparents Day!

Hey there! Been FOREVER since I posted on my Blog! OMG how time flies by! LOL
Anyway, I just wanted to share this card I made for my Grandma for Grandparents Day. I think it came out pretty good.
Using my Cricut E2, I cut out "Grandma" from the Mother's Day seasonal cart and the frame is from Fancy Frames. "Sweet wishes" stamp is from one of My Pink Stamper's sets, which is stamped on a pc of cardstock and tied to the jewel brad in the center of the flower using Twine I bought from Pink Cricut. The crinkle ribbon I made myself and adhered it to the card using glue dots.
Patterned Papers are from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean stack.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Grandparent's Day!!!

New Years Day - Your Story Photo - Part 3

Hello there! Here are the last few pages in the mini album.
On this one I used another metal word from Making Memories, "cherish" and added some flowers and bling.
I cut the flourish in the pic above from Straight From the Nest @ 1-3/4" and dazzled it up a bit with some bling and a little flower.

One of my favorite pictures of the day...I cut the heart/chicks again using Straight From the Nest @ 1-3/4". I added a little sand castle and seashells from a Jolee's Title set that I had.
I will post the finished product tomorrow!
Have a great day!

New Years Day - Your Story Photo - Part 2

OK, so here is Part 2 of the mini album I am putting together of our day at the beach on New Year's Day.
Again these pages were made using DCWV glitter, shimmer & regular cardstock and the Flower Shower & Garden Party stacks.
We had a lot of fun taking these pictures in the water! LOL Water was a bit chilly!

I cut this little birdie using Straight From the Nest cartridge cut @ 2". added a couple tiny prima flowers and some bling. "birds of a feather" is from My Pink Stamper's Tweetie Hoo Puns stamp set.
And another Straight From the Nest cut, paisley flower cut at 1-3/4" embellished with faux flowers, buttons and bling!
There aren't any Cricut cuts on this page...just prima flowers, bling and a metal word "togetherness" from Making Memories.
More to come!

New Year's Day - Your Story Photo - Part 1

My Mom, Stepdad and two of my little sisters were here in California from Idaho for a couple weeks just after Christmas. They rented a condo on the beach that was awesome!

On New Year's Day they invited all the family over for BBQ and some nice family time. We took a bunch of pictures and I decided to make a little album for Mom using my Your Story Photo (hope she doesn't see this before I get it sent to her, LOL). All pages are made from using DCWV glitter, shimmer and reg cardstock. Patterned papers are from the Flower Shower & Garden Party stacks.
I think I will break the pages up into several posts and then share the finished project.
Just across the street from the condo was T's Toe Rings. We all decided to get matching toe rings! Can't tell from the picture above what they look like but they are knots. One of our Aunt's came later and we took her back to get one too. Another aunt picked out a differnt design and Grandma even got one too!!
The toes in this picture here belong to Mom my three sisters and Me! :) Alot of the cuts I used in this mini album are from Straight From the Nest. "chillin with my Peeps" was cut at 2-1/4" using DCWV glitter and shimmer cardstock.
Embellished with some paper flowers, I think Prima, and some bling!
On this page I used a cut from the Botanicals, it is called vine, cut @ 2-1/4".
"Life is Tweet" cut using Straight From the Nest cartridge @ 2". Embellished with bling, buttons and faux flowers.
Stay tuned for part 2....

Blame it on Vegas Baby!

That's right! It's all Las Vegas's fault!! I am behind on my "Use 2" and crafting because of Vegas! LOL
So Friday night DH an I were sitting on the couch debating on what we should do...it was about 8:30-ish and our options were to go have a drink somewhere or start a fire and watch a movie...then DH said"Let's go to Vegas", I said "OK" and 15 minutes later we were packed and in the truck headed to Sin City!! Talk about spontaneous, we have never done anything like this, I don't think. LOL It felt great to just get up and leave town for a couple days on a whim.
Obviously I didn't get any crafting done this weekend and will have to double up this week! :) We had a great time, gambled a little, drank A LOT, and saw a show, "Fantasy" at Luxur (which is where we stayed). Didn't get much sleep so I don't think I will get any crafting done tonight either. But who know that can change...it's early still!

Altered Clipboard - shopping list

Good Morning!
So DH and I are always forgetting things we need when we go to the store, so I decided to make a clipboard to hang in the kitchen for our shopping list. Nothing fancy just simple, quick and easy!
I have a couple unaltered (just white) Creative Imaginations clipboards I bought well over a year ago. This one here is 6" x 12" and I painted it using a foam brush and PLAID craft paint, color is Toffee.
The clipboard doesn't have a little hole in the back like your regular ones do to hand so I grabbed some ribbon that matches some of the colors in our kitchen to hang it with. We already had a nail here in the cabinet that has been there forever. This is where we keep our garage key too. :)
We have a Cafe Latte theme going on in our kitchen so I used the adorable cut from Wall Decor & More Cricut cartridge. I think it's cut at about 1"-1 1/4" using white vinyl. Then I threw a notepad up there and Wa-La!! It seems to be working out pretty good!!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
