Blame it on Vegas Baby!

That's right! It's all Las Vegas's fault!! I am behind on my "Use 2" and crafting because of Vegas! LOL
So Friday night DH an I were sitting on the couch debating on what we should do...it was about 8:30-ish and our options were to go have a drink somewhere or start a fire and watch a movie...then DH said"Let's go to Vegas", I said "OK" and 15 minutes later we were packed and in the truck headed to Sin City!! Talk about spontaneous, we have never done anything like this, I don't think. LOL It felt great to just get up and leave town for a couple days on a whim.
Obviously I didn't get any crafting done this weekend and will have to double up this week! :) We had a great time, gambled a little, drank A LOT, and saw a show, "Fantasy" at Luxur (which is where we stayed). Didn't get much sleep so I don't think I will get any crafting done tonight either. But who know that can change...it's early still!

Altered Clipboard - shopping list

Good Morning!
So DH and I are always forgetting things we need when we go to the store, so I decided to make a clipboard to hang in the kitchen for our shopping list. Nothing fancy just simple, quick and easy!
I have a couple unaltered (just white) Creative Imaginations clipboards I bought well over a year ago. This one here is 6" x 12" and I painted it using a foam brush and PLAID craft paint, color is Toffee.
The clipboard doesn't have a little hole in the back like your regular ones do to hand so I grabbed some ribbon that matches some of the colors in our kitchen to hang it with. We already had a nail here in the cabinet that has been there forever. This is where we keep our garage key too. :)
We have a Cafe Latte theme going on in our kitchen so I used the adorable cut from Wall Decor & More Cricut cartridge. I think it's cut at about 1"-1 1/4" using white vinyl. Then I threw a notepad up there and Wa-La!! It seems to be working out pretty good!!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

B-Day Card - Use 2

Hello! How is everyone's Sunday so far? Mine is very nice and crafty! :) DH went to go watch football with his buds so I'm just playing in my scraproom today! I just finished making this card using the other cartridge I drew for this weeks "Use 2", Everyday Paper Dolls. The girl and balloons are from this cartridge and were cut at 3-1/2". I used DCWV glitter and regular cardstock. I still had the pink glitter flower paper on my desk from the birthday card I made a few days ago so I just used it again for her dress, shoes and bows in her hair. It was from DCWV's Flower Shower spring stack. I stamped her face with a set of face stamps I got from sizzix.com. "Happy Birthday!" is Fiskars clear stamps.

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Corey!!!

Happy Birthday Corey!!
And Happy Friday!!!
I whipped this card together last night for Corey Lynn's birthday. I used one of the cartridges that I drew for this week's "Use 2", Paper Lace.
The cardstock and patterned papers are from DCWV's Flower Shower Spring Stack from last year. See that?? U-ingWIH! LOL Anyway hard to see in the pics but the dress looks really cute with those glittered flowers. I used the same paper for the shoes too. I cut the girl using my Cricut Expression and the Shall We Dance? cartridge.
"Celebrate Today!" is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set. And the scalloped ovals are from a set of punches I bought years ago at a Scrapbook convention for like $10...it came with 10 punches all different sizes.
I punched the corners using Martha Stewart's Laurel Leaf corner punch and added some feathers.
So here is where I used Paper Lace...Happy Birthday Corey!!!!

Card Contest Submission for PC

I am so excited! This is my first ever submission for any type of contest!
Here it is...this is the card I made and submitted to Jinger @ Provo Craft for the card making contest. I had to dig deep but I finally found an Anna Griffin product...its the solid lt. purple paper I used on both the front and inside of the card. I can't believe this is the only AG thing I had in this scraproom! LOL
I used Wall Decor & More Cricut cartridge since it's the only one I have of the three we were allowed to use. The compass and the other swirly thingy were cut from this cartridge. Compass was cut at 4-1/2" and the swirly thing at 1-3/4"
Patterned papers are from K & Company. I just love the K-ology line!
I actually printed the words on the AG paper using my regular printer. I don't have stamps that say what I wanted. Got me really thinking about getting the TC Stamp Maker! :) The flowers are REAL dried flowers. I though this added the "uniqueness" to my card, and the green pearls are aelf adhesive from want 2 scrap.
The background is shimmer cardstock from DCVW which I used Martha Stewart's around the page punch....umm not exactly sure what the name of this one is. I also used MS purple glitter on the compass to add more sparkle to my card and some ribbon from my ribbon stash.
As usual, I left the inside of the card simple. I reads "I will always love you".
Thanks for stopping by!!

Christmas 2010 - Use 2 week 2

Hello there!!
I'm a little late posting last week's "Use 2" project, had a busy weekend, the cartridges were Joy's of the Season & When it's Cold Outside. I decided to use them on a scrapbook page using my favorite Christmas 2010 picture of my doggie Lucie Lu.
This is a 12x12 page using Bo Bunny's Classic Christmas collection, DCWV glitter cardstock & Bazzill cardstock.
I apologize I did not write the details down as far as the sizes for my cuts using the cartridges because I had planed on posting this the same day...well that didn't happen so I will have to go with a SWAG (Scientific Wild A$$ Guess) LOL. The holly was cut at about 3" using Joys of the Season.
The snowflake wast cut at 3" using When It's cold Outside. The corner punch I used on the photo mat is Martha Stewart. Hard to see in the pictures, but I added a little sparkle to the snowflake corners using my Stickles.
While I was at it, I went ahead and knocked two more goals off my UWIH challenge list. The paw print heart is from Four Legged Friends Cricut Lite cartridge, also cut at 3" I believe.
And "2010" was cut using Elegant Cakes Cricut Cake cartridge. I'm gonna guess the numbers were cut at 1". The flower and leaves are prima.

I haven't drawn this weeks "Use 2" cartridges yet...I will post those tomorrow.

Thanks for looking!

My heart is yours - Valentine's Day Card

Happy Friday!!!
As part of my UWIH challenge for January, I listed making a Valentine's Day card for my husband as one of my goals. So here it is...
Another goal was to use the Ornamental Iron cartridge. Using DS I welded together two shadows, one flipped of course, of the gate and cut it at 6" using black cardstock, the gate was cut from a silver metalic paper and I have no idea where I got it! LOL
The key is from Wall Decor & More and the heart is from Sweethearts cartridges.
The metal key hole is Karen Foster and the stamps "My heart is yours" and "Will you be my Valentine?" are Studio G stamps from the dollar bins at M's or J's (can't remember) that I got on clearance for $.50!! :)
And as I have stated before...I'm totally into feathers on my cards right now. Hehe.
The hearts were cut using DCVW glitter cardstock and I used silver metalic ink for the stamps.

So that is two more goals off my list for the UWIH challenge!! Yippeeeee!!
Thanks for stoping by!

Christmas Cards

Hi there! I know the holidays are over but I never got around to sharing some of the cards I made. Here are a few:

For these cards I used PC Cardstock and the Christmas Cards seasonal cartrdge to cut the actual card and lightly ink the edges. I cut the background using Paper Lace and shimmer DCVW cardstock, the shadow background was printed and cut using my Cricut Imagine and the Mr Frosty colors & patterns Imagine cartridge.
"Reindeer Crossing" & "celebrate the season" are from Pink by Design's Christmas Wishes stamp set.
The reindeer and Santa's head was cut using my Cricut Expression and the Christmas solutions cartridge. I added a little bling to both carts using my i-rock. My feather obession began in October when I was making some Halloween decor I never got around to posting either. LOL

Leaves and flowers are Prima and used some self adhesive pearls by Want 2 Scrap.
Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Cricut Expression Dust Cover

Finally! I have a dust cover for my Expression. My Mother-in-Law sewed this baby together for me this past weekend. I purchased the material from JoAnn's and we used the free pattern from the Custom Crops website.
I don't know a thing about sewing so she is going to make dust covers for all my machines. I will post pics when the rest of them are done. I don't think there are instructions on the free pattern at Custom Crops about how to do the piping (I think that is what it's called), but my MIL added it and it looks great!
Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Party Animal Rock On! - Birthday card

I made this Birthday card for on of my little sisters. Everything was cut using my Imagine. I actually made this a few months ago so I don't really remember all the details but i will share what I do know. :)
The girl is from Rock Princess. Her skirt was printed with a pattern from the JT Imagine cartridge. You can't tell from the pic but I gave it a pleather look using Aleense's Paper Glaze.
"Party Animal" & "Rock On!" are from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Life stamp set. I used my i-Rock to add some bling. Pink Cardstock and the glitter cardstock is DCWV. I have a thing for feathers right now, so I have purchased several packages from JoAnn's in different colors.
The corners on the inside were punched using a Martha Stewart corner punch. And I stamped the candles & "blowing birthday wishes your way" using Staz On ink.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Make a Wish - B-day card "Use 2" & UWIH

Happy Friday!!
Ok, here is my project using the two cartridges I drew for this week, Doodlecharms & Nursery Tails. I used them both in one project. This also qualifies as one of the Birthday cards I listed as my goal in the UWIH Challege from the Cricut Circle MB. :)
This is a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 card. The cupcake is from Doodlecharms, I used my Imagine to cut it since the pattern for the cupcake wrapper and candle is from the Nursery Tails cart. It is cut at 4". I used DCWV glitter cardstock for hte frosting and DCWV shimmer cardstock for the flame. The green background is also printed and cut using my Imagine and Nursery Tails. The stars are from Jolee's and streamers are from Sandylion Essentials.

"Make a wish!" is a sticker I found in a drawer full of birthday and party themed embellishments and stickers! Holy Moly I have a lot of stuff to use! LOL I inked the edges with a dark blue ink on both the card and the green background.
This stamp I believe is from a Birthday set by Stampendous and Azure Staz On ink.
Quick, simple and easy!
If anyone out there is looking, thanks for stopping by!

First draw for "Use 2"

I decided that is what I am going to call this challenge, "Use 2". So far for 2011 my crafty/scrapy challenges are UWIH (for the month of January) & Use 2 (this will continue throughout the year).

As you can see in the pic above, the lucky cartridges I picked for this week are Doodlecharms & Nursery Tails (Imagine Cartridge). Hopefully I can get started on these this evening after I get off work.

Another Goal/Challenge for 2011

I've joined another challenge with my fellow Circlets. This one is to use two cartridges a week. No other rules here other than to use two different carts a week. They can be used either together in one project or two separate projects. I printed out the names of all the cartridges I currently own, both Cricut & Cricut Imagine cartridges and put them in this cute little round box.
Each week I will pull two cartridges from "the hat" and put them to work on a project. I haven't yet decided which day I will draw, but I'm thinking Saturday's or Sunday's.
I will draw my first two tomorrow morning before I head off to work, then my next two sometime this weekend.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Welcome, 2011! :)
So one of my goals for the new year is to UWIH/UWYH (Use What I/You Have). I am a Cricut Circle member and some of us Circlets have challenged ourselves to UWIH/UWYH. This means NO purchasing of new scrap/crafting items for the month of January! You can only use the items you currently own and have been hording for months, well maybe years LOL! The only thing we are allowed to buy are items such as adhesive, cutting blades, items necessary to assemble our projects.
Below are a few pics of my scraproom I took a couple weeks ago (please excuse the mess) which clearly shows I have more that I can use in my lifetime probably, LOL but exactly how am I supposed to stop buying all the cute stuff that comes out???
(what is that cart doing way over there? it should be on the other side of the room! LOL)

For this challenge we listed out a few of our goals, mine are as follows:

Items to complete:

  • An album for DH of his Grandfather
  • couple Birthday Cards
  • Valentines Day card for DH
  • small photo books for Mom & Grandma

Tools/Machines I have never used:

  • Bind-it-all
  • Your Story
  • Your Story Photo

Cricut Cartridges never used:

  • Bloom
  • Botanicals
  • Elegant Cakes
  • Ornamental Iron
  • Summer in Paris
  • Four Legged Friends

Good luck to my fellow Circlets who are challenging themselves as well.

I better get to work on that album!
